Attached is an expert opinion from Dario Succi, Gorizia, undated, copy. From a slightly elevated position, the viewer's gaze falls on the precisely depicted architecture of the two towers of the Arsenal in Venice, through which a sailing ship is currently sailing. The partly cloudy sky makes it possible to illuminate from the right, so the walls of the arsenal are illuminated by bright sunlight and thus have a great depth of field. Here, according to Succi, Tironi combines the precision of a Canaletto with the fluidity of a Guardi. The square is enlivened by some staffage figures in costumes. Succi clearly attributes this painting to Tironi, whose style can be described as eclectic. He made use of elements from both Canaletto and Guardi as well as Marieschi. Succi sees the engraving by Michele Marieschi “Magnificentiores Selectioresque Urbis Venetiarum Prospectus” as a model for this painting (see illustration in Dario Succi. La Serenissima im Kupferspiegel, 2013, Volume I, p. 244, note 15). Succi dates this painting to around 1785. 53 x 71 cm, Oil on Canvas.
