Glenmorangie is a Scottish distillery in the Highlands, near the Dornoch Firth. The name comes from a Gaelic expression meaning "valley of calm". It was originally a brewery for the town of Tain until William Matheson converted it to a distillery in 1843. Records show that as early as the late 19th century it was sold in luxury hotels such as The Savoy, a testament to its quality at the time.
In 1959, after a brief hiatus, it returned as a single malt whiskey and quickly became the best seller in Scotland. Glenmorangie is famous for its tall 'giraffe' stills which produce a fine, fruity and sweet spirit. Thanks to the innovations of Dr. Today, Billa Lumsden is also known for its experimental limited editions, using different varieties of barley and types of whiskey barrels.
Since 2004, the distillery has been owned by the French company Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy (LVMH).
Glenmorangie 25 Years Old "Quarter Century" is a unique single malt whisky that combines aging in multiple cask types to achieve a complex and refined profile. This whisky is matured in three types of casks: American white oak bourbon, Spanish Oloroso sherry, and Burgundy wine casks.
Nose: Sweet and fruity, with notes of apple, pear, and light lemon, transitioning into hints of chocolate, plums, and cherries.
Taste: Smooth, complex, and oily, with flavors reminiscent of Christmas cake filled with fruit and dark chocolate. The sweetness of the sherry and a touch of spice deliver a deep taste experience.
Finish: Long, with notes of ginger and nutmeg that fade into the sweetness of honey and caramel, complemented by a subtle touch of oak.
This whisky is prized for its sophisticated structure among connoisseurs and is also popular among collectors, presented in a luxurious wooden box with a high-gloss metallic lacquer finish.
