Historické místo vzbuzuje komplikované pocity naplněné krví, bolestí, ale také životem. Když jsem byla malá, povídali mi o lágrech na okraji mého města na Sibiři. Procházeli jsme se těmi bory se složitým pocitem historičnosti. Jak jsem dospívala, dozvídala jsem se o mnoha svých pradědečcích a prababičkách, kteří zakusili rozkozačování, vyhnanství a lágry. Tento pocit je o to děsivější, že se jen tváří jako minulost. Ve skutečnosti je to tvá přítomnost. Ta dívka uprostřed představuje osamocený náznak tohoto pocitu. Možná pláče. Možná křičí. Doufám, že někdy dostane tvář.

The historical site evokes complex emotions full of blood and pain as well as life. When I was little, I was told about prison camps on the outskirts of my town in Siberia. We would walk those pine forests with that complex historical feeling. Growing up, I would hear the stories of many of my great-grandads and great-grandmas who experienced anti-Cossack repressions, exile and prison camps. The feeling is made even graver by the fact that it only pretends to be the past. In fact, this is your present time. The girl in the centre represents a lonely suggestion of the feeling. She may be crying. She may be screaming. I hope she will get her face one day.
