Popis
A monumental studio glass sculpture SIGNUM in uranium glass—an exceptional collector’s piece by the internationally acclaimed duo Stanislav Libenský and Jaroslava Brychtová. Built on a triangular base, the work rises into a dynamic wedge form with precisely defined edges and generous planes. Uranium glass creates a striking optical presence: in natural light it shifts from soft lemon tones to saturated yellow-green hues and shows characteristic fluorescence under UV light. Working with light as its primary medium, the sculpture changes its visual character with the direction and intensity of illumination. With an approximate weight of 30 kg, it is a monumental gallery-scale object of museum category—an outstanding representative example of the artists’ mature work and a powerful standalone piece for major interiors and collections. Signed. Excellent condition. This artwork comes from the private St. Martin Collection, established at the end of the 20th century and gradually expanded over the decades into a remarkable collection of approximately 800 artworks and collectible objects. The collection was built with a focus on authorial originality and distinctive artistic expression. Objects originating from this collection appear on the market only rarely, which significantly enhances their collector’s value. The inclusion of this piece in the auction therefore represents an attractive opportunity to acquire an artwork with clear provenance from a long-established private collection.
