An exceptional Arcus sculpture with a fascinating and ever-changing color expression. Depending on the type and intensity of light, the glass shifts from deep smoky ruby and wine-red tones to subtle violet nuances. This remarkable ability to transform its appearance makes the work a highly desirable collector's piece and one of the most impressive examples of Libenský and Brychtová's mastery of light within glass.

DESCRIPTION:
The sculpture Arcus was created between 1990 and 1996 and represents one of the most characteristic examples of the late work of the world-renowned artistic duo Stanislav Libenský and Jaroslava Brychtová. The object was executed using the cast glass technique, followed by grinding and polishing. Its exceptional quality lies in its remarkable color variability, which changes significantly according to the surrounding light conditions. Under different lighting, the sculpture transforms from deep smoky ruby and rich wine-red tones to delicate violet hues, offering constantly evolving visual experiences. The characteristic opening in the center creates a captivating interplay of light and shadow, enhancing the spatial effect of the work and giving it an almost architectural presence. At once monumental and contemplative, the sculpture perfectly demonstrates the artists' ability to transform glass into a medium of light and sculpture. The work bears the engraved signature S. Libenský – J. Brychtová 90–96 corresponding to the period of its creation. It comes from the collection of St. Martin, was exhibited at Galerie Černá růže in Benešov nad Ploučnicí, and remains in very good collector's condition. Arcus belongs among the iconic works of the artists' late period and combines exceptional artistic quality, international recognition, and strong long-term investment potential.
