In a painted high oval, the seated Mary in a bright, red, pleated robe and blue cloak, holding the boy Jesus seated in a white robe on her lap; both look out attentively at the viewer with their brown eyes. To their left is Joseph, holding an open book in his hands and reading it. The depiction is surrounded by a colourful wreath of flowers with large, bright blossoms, including striped tulips, roses, white snowballs, anemones, various small flowers and, in the centre, a magnificent, bright orange imperial crown at the top of the wreath. A highly colourful depiction that points to the collaboration between the two painters, with the flowers by Jan Brueghel the Younger. Oil on panel. 64.5 x 49.5 cm.
