Auchentoshan is a Scottish distillery located near Glasgow in the Lowlands, founded in 1823. Auchentoshan Aged 18 Years is a single malt whisky, bottled as a limited edition in 2006. The whisky is matured in a combination of first and second fill sherry casks (1st and 2nd Fill Oloroso Sherry Butts), which gives the whisky fullness and complexity, while the sherry notes are not overpoweringly sweet or heavy but well balanced.
