Aberlour is a Scottish distillery founded in 1826 in the Speyside region, near the town of Aberlour. It was founded by James Wilson, who used local water and traditional production methods to produce a quality distillate. The distillery went through several changes of ownership and was rebuilt after a fire in 1898, which contributed to its modern appearance and production processes.
In 2001, Aberlour became part of the portfolio of Pernod Ricard, one of the largest producers of alcoholic beverages in the world. It wasn't until the 1990s that the distillery began offering its distillate as a single malt, with its 12-year-old bottling becoming one of its best-known and sought-after products.
Aberlour A'bunadh Batch No. 18 is a limited edition single malt whisky from the Aberlour Distillery. A'bunadh, meaning "origin" in Gaelic, is produced without chill filtration, without added coloring, and is bottled at cask strength to preserve the whisky’s authentic and full character.
Nose: Intense and rich, with strong notes of dark fruit such as raisins and prunes, complemented by chocolate, spices, and sweet sherry.
Taste: Full and robust, with dominant flavors of sherry, chocolate, dried fruit, and spices. Caramel and dark chocolate tones blend harmoniously with a subtle sweetness.
Finish: Long and warm, with sweet notes of sherry, spice, and a subtle oak finish.
This whisky is highly prized among whisky lovers who appreciate an intense sherry profile.
