Midleton is an Irish distillery located in the town of Midleton near Cork in the south of Ireland. It is among the largest distilleries in the country. It was originally established in 1825, but in 1975 several older distilleries merged to create a new, modern distillery known as "New Midleton," which replaced the original Midleton Distillery. The distillery produces several types of whiskey, both traditional single pot still and grain whiskey. These are then marketed as single pot still whiskey or used for blended whiskey.
Today, Midleton is home to a number of Irish whiskey brands such as Jameson, Redbreast, Powers, Green Spot, as well as the premium Midleton Very Rare, which is released annually as a limited edition and is sought after by whiskey collectors and connoisseurs worldwide.< br>
Today, the distillery is part of the Irish Distillers group, which falls under the international conglomerate Pernod Ricard, and is one of the key players in the renewal and development of Irish whiskey on global market.
Midleton Very Rare 2007 is a limited edition Irish whiskey that represents the pinnacle of craftsmanship from the Midleton distillery. Each vintage of Midleton Very Rare is crafted from carefully selected casks aged between 12 to 25 years in a combination of bourbon and sherry casks, renowned for its exceptional smoothness and complex profile.
