Benromach is a Scottish distillery in the Speyside region, near the town of Forres, founded in 1898 by Duncan McCallum and F.W. Brickmann. The name refers to the local geography. It closed several times during the 20th century, most recently in 1983 when it was owned by DCL, who used it as a source of spare parts for other distilleries. In 1993 the distillery was bought by Gordon & MacPhail, renovated and reopened in 1998.
Benromach distillate is characterized by subtle smoky notes, fruitiness and a medium body. The basic line consists of 10-year-old, 15-year-old, 21-year-old whiskey and editions in cask strength or without age indication.
Benromach 25 Years Old is a single malt whisky that has been aged for at least 25 years, giving it a rich and sophisticated character. This whisky is known for its balance between fruity and spicy notes, with a subtle touch of peat smoke typical of Benromach.
Nose: Intense citrus notes, mainly orange and lemon, along with sophisticated floral elements.
Taste: A rich blend of dark chocolate, spice, and sherry-infused fruit that blends perfectly with citrus flavors.
Finish: Long and smooth, with lingering notes of spice and fine smoke typical of Benromach.
The auctioned bottle is from a release that was available on the market between 2004 and 2009.
