About
This original vase by architect Miloš Šedivý is an intimate yet striking object on the border of functional design and fine art. Its silhouette recalls a chalice or a small ceremonial cup, set on a stable ceramic foot. The upper rim is formed by a stained‑glass crown of garnet‑colored glass segments joined with lead, giving the piece a jewel‑like presence. The contrast between the earthy ceramic body and the smooth glass panels creates Šedivý’s signature material dialogue. From different angles, the vertical rhythm of the glass changes and produces subtle reflections. The vase is fully usable, while also standing as a sculpture even when empty. Lead joints add a graphic line and emphasize the architectural character. Every detail is hand‑modeled and assembled, making each piece unique. It works beautifully in both contemporary and classic interiors as a small but confident color accent. A strong choice for collectors of studio glass, ceramics, and original design. Size 25 × 16 cm; weight approx. 2 kg.
