CURATOR'S TIP: An authentic landscape painting by a respected member of the Hollar Association depicting one of the most iconic landmarks of the Bohemian Paradise region. Measuring 16.5 × 27 cm, the painting depicts the distinctive hill of Zebín, one of the best-known landmarks of the Jičín region and the Bohemian Paradise. Viewed from the village of Robousy, the composition opens onto a tranquil landscape of fields, trees and rural architecture. Pavel Šimon employs a restrained palette and expressive brushwork that bring vitality and atmosphere to the scene. The soft treatment of light and colour conveys a sense of calm and natural harmony.
