Jirka is a gentle giant, peaceful, very kind and sensitive. He creates spontaneously, yet slowly and thoughtfully. In his paintings, especially through the use of his favourite colour yellow, he manages to evoke the glow and light of summer. Perhaps this is because life has not always been easy for him, and perhaps that is also why a shadow of his past and longing for his family sometimes shines through in these paintings.
