Standa is a true veteran of our facility. He has spent more than 60 years in institutional care and has lived through the time of the religious sisters and even the castle owner. With age came many limitations, and he had to give up his favourite pastime, embroidery. Yet he still paints brilliantly and enthusiastically, despite being wheelchair-bound and having poor eyesight and limited hand mobility. He is modest and uncomplicated, just like his pictures, which pretend to be nothing and hide nothing. They simply are.
