About
The painting Autumn Forest depicts a secluded woodland scene with tall trees, through whose branches warm autumn light filters. The composition is structured around the dark vertical lines of tree trunks, between which a view into the depths of the forest opens up. In the foreground, a woodland path is bordered by vegetation, while vibrant orange and yellow tones of autumn foliage stand out on the right side of the painting. The scene conveys a peaceful atmosphere and captures the rich colours of autumn nature.
The painting is distinguished by loose brushwork, expressive brushstrokes, and a rich range of colours. Predominantly dark green, brown, and bluish-grey tones contrast with warm orange and ochre accents that illuminate individual areas of the composition. The layering of colours and the interplay of lighter and darker areas create a striking sense of depth within the woodland setting. The free, expressive painting technique lends the work a sense of liveliness and enhances the atmosphere of the autumn landscape.
The work is executed in oil on canvas, measuring 50.5 × 56.5 cm, and signed in the lower right corner. The painting is framed. Provenance: the artist's estate. The date of execution is not specified.
