From childhood he contributed as an illustrator to the publishing work of his father, Josef Florian, and later also devoted himself to independent art. He created illustrations and ex-libris, and later became known abroad as well, particularly in Denmark, the Netherlands and Italy. Since 1958 he has had a permanent exhibition hall in the Dačice gallery.
