Mounted on cardboard with a reproduction of the painting "Die große Zeit" by Ludwig Koch (1866-1934). Framed, glazed. German painter, architect and art historian. Between 1941 and 1944 he was conscripted by the Wehrmacht to the Eastern Front as a war artist (Kriegsmaler). In 1942 he found himself encircled by the Soviet army in the so-called Demyansk Pocket. He survived this dangerous military operation, but it significantly affected both his personal and artistic life. Despite his deployment at the front, he maintained a studio in Potsdam, where he was able to complete and present his works.
