Bohuslava Olešová was born in Český Těšín. She studied artistic design/visual propaganda at the Secondary School of Glassmaking in Ostrava and during her career undertook study trips to Italy, England, France and Belgium. Since the 1980s she has been one of the notable figures of the Brno art scene and is known for her paintings and installations. Bohuslava Olešová is among the women artists who have significantly contributed, through their work, to this regional as well as national artistic culture. Her work includes paintings, drawings, spatial installations and site-specific projects, and she has long worked on several thematically interconnected series. Within the art scene she is regarded as an artist with deep inner sensitivity and receptiveness to mystical and symbolic themes, often captured in her cycles such as "The Thirst of Infinity" or "The Uncertainty Principle".
