Illustrated with woodcuts by Karel Němec, two of them signed in pencil in the text "K. Němec". Below the colophon, signatures of the illustrator and the translator. Published by Lidové závody tiskařské a nakladatelské, spol. s r. o. in Olomouc in a print run of 150 copies on Zanders handmade paper with a watermark; this copy bears no. 2. The wrapper is slightly torn at the spine, minimally soiled; the book block is in well-preserved condition. Provenance: the Jiří Kačer collection. Karel Němec – painter and printmaker, specialist in the linocut technique, author of ex libris, illustrations, print cycles and also sgraffiti. Born in Nové Město na Moravě. He studied in Prague at Professor Kalvoda's private painting school and at the Academy.
